What are the advantages of this program ?
This program works different from how other programs presumably working
(to my knowledge).
Therefore it gets some advantages over other DeClickers:
- the algorithm has no
parameters to be optimized/adjusted
- the algorithm is
completely level independent
- the algorithm is
nearly completely independent from the
width of clicks
- the algorithm only
changes the click-part of the data
- if the program runs multiple times against the same
audio
data it rarely detects new clicks and therefore cannot damage the audio
material
What are the
disadvantages of this program ?
- the algorithm cannot
detect all clicks (like other DeClickers)
- the algorithm may
wrongly affect the audio material. This manipulation is normally of
another
kind / in another place like that of other
programs so that it is inaudible to me
(in contrast to other programs). But everyone can make his own decision
about that.
- Some clicks are
embedded in low-frequency distorsions
(plop). After removing the click it is possible to hear a 'plop' where
there was seemingly none
before. (This applies normally to strong scratches because the
mechanical and electrical part has to adust itself after this).
- Strong scratches are not often removed.
- the algorithm is
fairly slow
What else is to be taken
into account ?
- The wav-files to process must have the uncompressed
PCM format.
- The processed
wav-files carry only the pure audio data and
may therefore be smaller then the original ones (no marker lists etc.).
- The program should be
self-explanatory (if it is not please
mail me).
What are the features of
the demo program ?
The demo program is fully functional except for the following points:
- there is only one
wav-file to be processed at a time
- the wav-file is
processed for maximal 3 minutes
- only samplerates up to
44.1 kHz and sampledepths up to 16
bit are processed (CD)
What are the features of
the full version ?
The full version has the following additional features:
- Operates approximately one and a half times faster
- samplerates up to 96
kHz and sampledepths up to 32 bit are
supported
- batch-operation is
possible (multiple file processing one
after another)
